Who Are We?
The Friends of the Creole Nature Trail, Inc. (Friends of the CNT) is an organization formed to foster educational experiences for visitors along the Creole Nature Trail All-American Road. The need is urgent to protect these disappearing coastal wetlands from coastal erosion and environmental hazards. Fostering the knowledge of this critical need in our children and grandchildren, through support and involvement along the Trail, is the best means of preserving this national treasure for future generations.

What Is Our Goal?
The Friends of CNT seek to inform and engage younger generations to discover and preserve this critically important yet fragile ecosystem we affectionately call “Louisiana’s Outback.” As visitors  — both child and adult — come to experience the natural wonders of this environment, our goal is to enhance their knowledge and understanding of a broad range of scientific fields related to preservation: ornithology, herpetology, conservation and the environment.

How Do We Attain Our Goal?
• We have worked and will continue to work in partnership with other interested agencies and parties (Lake Charles/Southwest Louisiana Convention & Visitors Bureau; Southwest Louisiana Refuge Complex; Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge) to build new, user-friendly, informative interpretation opportunities as well as observation infrastructure.
• We build partnerships with industries and companies — seafood as well as oil and gas — who are also working to conserve the Creole Nature Trail system environment even as they do their business.
 
How can I get involved?
To help us preserve the Creole Nature Trail, you can join the Friends of the Creole Nature Trail, Inc. Members will receive the benefits listed in the downloadable brochure and are kept apprised of opportunities to actively participate in activities and events along the trail.

The Friends of the CNT is a 501(c)3 organization. Membership is tax deductible to the limits allowed by law.
